Vineyard and Cellar Notes
The vines survived a challenging year in 2009: first a cold winter, followed by a mid-May frost, a VERY rainy summer, and then mid-October snow! It has been said that "struggling vines produce the best wines," so we are anticipating some outstanding offerings, including our new Cornell varieties, Traminette and Marquette.

Eye of the Buck is a familiar blend of ours, but this year we also blended Chambourcin and Chancellor to produce a full-bodied, dry red table wine. We think you'll like it. a (More about our wines)

Windgate wines took 4 awards at the International Eastern Wine Competition in June: a Silver medal went to our Concord, and Bronze medals were awarded to our Guyasuta, Blackberry, and our Riesling wines.
